Inspire Design were commissioned to design and achieve technical approval for a new roundabout to facilitate the forthcoming Peak Resort in Derbyshire.
Peak Resort is an integrated leisure, health, sport and education resort on the 300 acre Birchall Estate, Unstone. It will be a major visitor attraction to the north west of Chesterfield on the boundary of the 500 square mile Peak District National Park and will become one of the UK’s flagship tourist attractions.
Last week we were thrilled to receive the following testimonial from Rupert Carr, Director of Birchall Properties Ltd:
“The delivery of Peak Resort, a phased £200+m capital programme creating an all year mixed use tourism development on the boundary of the Peak District National Park at Chesterfield, commenced in 2017 with the implementation of diversion of pubic rights of way and Section 278 Highway Works. The brief was a cleared and fenced development site with a feature roundabout entrance from the existing A61 Sheepbridge interchange.
It was vital to us that this first step in our delivery plans would be realised to the highest standards as it would be seen by the wider community as an expression of our commitment to quality going forward.
Inspire Design & Developments exceeded our expectations and the ‘first step’ project was delivered on time and on budget which on public highway programmes doesn’t come without extraordinary effort and teamwork.
Lee Barnes and his team provided more than just professional technical designs. They engaged with our team and wider stakeholders, Derbyshire County Council, Chesterfield Borough Council, statutory undertakers, drainage authorities and the contractors from day one and worked tirelessly to meet everyone’s requirements- it was going the ‘extra mile’ which achieved the project’s timely completion.
Well done and thank you Inspire.”
