Our experienced SuDS, flood risk and drainage team are passionate about providing drainage design solutions that work to minimise cost and mitigate flood risk. We are industry leaders in the design of sustainable design systems (SuDS), and as part of our SuDS Academy we are driving research and change in the design, implementation and approval of good SuDS schemes. We focus on providing the right solution for the management of surface water and have an extensive knowledge base on flood risk management techniques.
We are involved in a broad range of drainage projects, with an equally diverse suite of solutions for residential and commercial developments. We offer:
- SuDS Design– now a requirement for many planning applications, we can incorporate surface-level and below ground sustainable drainage techniques, such as rills, swales, rain gardens, filter strips, detention basins and wetlands. The sooner we are involved in a project, the sooner we can incorporate these features as an integral part of a site masterplan, maximising development space and creating multi-use areas. - Hydraulic modelling – we use a number of drainage and channel flow modelling software packages to build robust and efficient designs, and produce calculations for Building Regulations Approval, Planning Approval, Section 106 and 106 Agreements and BREEAM.
- Foul drainage design – from single plot foul flow assessments to the design of large development foul pumping systems, we can assess the right solution to provide foul drainage service for your development.
- Water authority applications – Our good working relationships with water authorities underpin our work in managing the design submission and technical approval process under the Water Industry Act 1991, including Section 104 (adoption of a new sewer), Section 106 (connection to an existing sewer) and Section 185 (diversion of an existing sewer)
From site feasibility through to build stage, we can assess, design and model the right solution for site drainage. Early involvement, at pre-planning stage, will help us to maximize the efficiency of the design layout, saving land-take on site, and build and whole life cost.
